Day one of the Bosnia–Hvar loop leaves Sarajevo through Tarčin and over Ivan Sedlo, then follows the Neretva valley past Konjic and Jablanica onto the Blidinje plateau and through Tomislavgrad. The line continues into Croatia at Kamensko, drops through Trilj and Klis to Split, and finishes on Hvar after the car ferry to Stari Grad and the run into Hvar town. Expect a mix of mountain roads and longer paved stretches, with gravel on the high Bosnian sections rather than extended technical trail.
Long day with a Bosnia–Croatia border crossing at Kamensko: carry passport or ID, bike registration, and insurance valid in both countries. The Split–Stari Grad ferry is required to reach Hvar; check sailings and arrive with enough time. Blidinje plateau and mountain sections can be cold, foggy, or slippery after rain; fill up before the plateau.
