Adventure Country Tracks (ACT) is a named gravel route through Croatia. The published piece in this catalog is the Hvar crossing on day two of the Bosnia to Hvar loop.
Hvar town to Makarska is about 148 km and six hours, tagged medium for a big ADV, a mid-size bike, or an enduro. It leaves Hvar town through Stari Grad, Pitve, and Jelsa, then the eastern villages to Sućuraj on the ACT gravel. The Sućuraj–Drvenik ferry puts the ride on the mainland coast toward Makarska. About 55% of the day is paved, 40% gravel, and 5% dirt.
The island gravel is muddy and slippery after rain. Island roads are narrow and carry tourist traffic in summer. The ferry runs to a timetable, and summer queues are normal. Check the sailing before leaving Hvar town.
